Description/Abstract

Repetitive processes are a class od two-dimensional (2D) systems of both theoretical and practical interest. These processes cannot be controlled by (direct) application of standard (termed 1D here) theory since such an approach neglects their unique dynamic characteristics. In this paper we present an intorduction to repetitive processes and survey the work to-date on the development of a control theory for these processes and its application to, in particular, classes of iterative learning control schemes..
