Description/Abstract

This paper reports on a modified Laser Induced Pressure Pulse (LIPP) system capable of measuring space charge activities inside dielectric materials subjected to both dc and 50 Hz ac electric stress automatically. Utilising the combination of hardware and software, this LIPP system enables the user to specify the number and duration of successive space charge measurements within a period of time. Some experimental results of space charge under dc and 50 Hz ac conditions will also be presented to demonstrate the validity of the system.
