The starlight saga: the final cut in the Alexandros T litigation?
Having been bounced from the Commercial Court to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court and back again via several detours to Greece, the latest iteration of the Starlight Shipping v Allianz case was heard by Mr Justice Flaux ([2014] EWHC 3068 (Comm)). In the process some highly significant decisions were made on the effectiveness of exclusive jurisdiction agreements and the compatibility with EU law of the relief available for breach of these agreements.
