Description/Abstract
This paper gives an account of a privately funded initiative to promote interest in Physics among pupils in underdevloped countries. The ‘Lab in a Lorry’ initiative, designed jointly by Schlumberger plc (Cambridge) and the University of Southampton (Research & Graduate School of Education) was successfully launched during Science week (‘Techfest’) in Abedeen and trialled in Scotland and East Anglia. It is scheduled to go worldwide, to countries where procuring and using the latest science equipment is problematic.
