Description/Abstract
This presentation reported on the issues and outcomes of the invitational Global Research Library 2020 workshop, held on 30 Sept - 2 Oct in Woodinville, Washington, USA, to a European audience. Research, scholarship, science, and discovery have been transformed by the Internet and communication technologies across all sectors on a global basis. In order for research libraries to play a central role in this increasingly multi-institutional and cross-sector environment, we must find new approaches for how they operate and add value to research and discovery on a global basis. This was a rare opportunity to make a start on thinking longer term with invitees from across sectors and across countries.
