Description/Abstract
This paper presents the results of an investigation into the strengthening of wrought iron structures using carbon fibre reinforced polymer composites (CFRP). The properties of wrought iron from a bridge in mid-Wales are given together with results of tests on strengthened wrought iron. It is shown that CFRP strengthening can be carried out safely subject to certain precautions.
