Description/Abstract
This paper presents the results of a comprehensive investigation into the strengthening of wrought iron structures using carbon fibre reinforced polymer composites (CFRP).The properties of wrought iron from a bridge in Mid-Wales are given together with results of tests on strenthened wrought iron. It is shown that CFRP strengthening can be carried out safely subject to certain precautions
