The Canadian inner city is currently marked by
diversity and dynamism. One way to approach this
diversity is through photography. A visual approach
was used to capture the simultaneous upgrading,
decline/revitalization, decline and stability within the
changing landscapes of Southwest Montre´al,
Canada’s original industrial heartland.

Le noyau central des villes canadiennes est connu
par son dynamisme et sa diversite´. La photographie
nous permet de mieux comprendre cette re´alite´. Une
e´tude visuelle a e´te´ utilise´e pour illustrer la
revalorisation, de´clin/re´vitalisation, de´clin et la
stabilite´ simultane´s du paysage fluide du sud-ouest
montre´alais, l’ancien centre industriel du Canada.
