We demonstrate a novel and simple technique, involving a standard fibre fusion splicer, to fabricate robust fibre whispering-gallery-mode bottle microresonators with loaded Q factors in excess of 3×107 (limited by the source tuning resolution).

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel and simple technique, involving a standard fibre fusion splicer, to fabricate robust fibre whispering-gallery-mode bottle microresonators with loaded Q factors in excess of 3×107 (limited by the source tuning resolution).
