Description/Abstract

This volume engages with adult literacy in French Canada and retraces discourses and practices in French community literacy centres during the last twenty years. The study is based on ethnographic data which is interpreted within a discourse analytical framework. Looking at the example of Ontario, it investigates current changes in 'la francophonie canadienne' which are related to migration, socioeconomic transformation and shifting values attributed to the French language.
