Pockels effect in thermally poled silica optical fibres

Pockels effect in thermally poled silica optical fibres
Pockels effect in thermally poled silica optical fibres
The linear electro-optic effect in vacuum thermally poled silica fibres is measured. A value of electro-optic coefficient of 0.05pm/V is experimentally obtained. This value is about 25 times higher then previously reported in silica fibres and may be increased by optimising the poling conditions.

Abstract

The linear electro-optic effect in vacuum thermally poled silica fibres is measured. A value of electro-optic coefficient of 0.05pm/V is experimentally obtained. This value is about 25 times higher then previously reported in silica fibres and may be increased by optimising the poling conditions.
