Design of 2DOF energy harvesting device
Design of 2DOF energy harvesting device
The novel design method for a 2DOF energy harvesting device is studied. The energy harvesting device is here modeled as a rigid body supported by two sets of a spring and a damper. The response and frequency-dependent damping of the proposed system is obtained from utilizing the dynamic stiffness method. The proposed design method deals with placing two resonant peaks and keeping the mimimum level of the response between the peaks, which can be used in widening the power harvesting bandwidth. A numerical example and test result are provided to show the performance and feasibility of the proposed method

Abstract

The novel design method for a 2DOF energy harvesting device is studied. The energy harvesting device is here modeled as a rigid body supported by two sets of a spring and a damper. The response and frequency-dependent damping of the proposed system is obtained from utilizing the dynamic stiffness method. The proposed design method deals with placing two resonant peaks and keeping the mimimum level of the response between the peaks, which can be used in widening the power harvesting bandwidth. A numerical example and test result are provided to show the performance and feasibility of the proposed method
