This contribution charts the development of British Jewish museology from the end of the nineteenth century to the present day. It engages with the processes of the presenting Jewish culture to diverse publics in the UK, drawing attention to the distinction between a religious and cultural understanding of Jewishness and differences between institutional approaches in the in the Jewish centres of London and Manchester.
