Process optimization for the production of alginate microparticles containing wjmscs by a design of experiments (doe) approach
The paper describes (a) the isolation and characterization of Wharton's Jelly Mesenchymal Stem cells (WJMSCs), (b) the encapsulation of WJMSCs in alginate microbeads by an encapsulation device based on a vibrating-nozzle, (c) the optimization of the procedure for the encapsulation of WJMSCs by a Design of Experiment (DoE) approach, and (d) the evaluation of viability, proliferation and osteoblastic differentiation of the encapsulated WJMSCs.
