Evaluating bus priority and queue relocation techniques of presignals
Pre-signal sites consist of sophisticated traffic control techniques and traffic interactions. Bus priority and queue relocation are two such techniques. Control logic plays an important role in vehicle actuated pre-signal systems. These should be simple and easy to implement and maintain. Microscopic simulation is used to evaluate bus priority and queue relocation capabilities at two pre-signal sites in London. Results indicated that pre-signal is capable of providing a strong priority to buses at congested road sections via bus priority and queue relocation techniques.

Abstract
