Fibre based short pulse generation and shaping technology
We review recent advances in the development of novel fibre components for short pulse generation and manipulation. In particular, we describe the development of high power, high pulse energy fibre sources based on novel doped fibre designs and present our latest results on continuous dispersion tapered fibre fabrication and its application to high capacity soliton communications.
