Abstract

A control strategy is introduced to manage the acoustic radiation pattern of two small-size loudspeakers used in small-sizeaudio devices. Each loudspeaker is modeled as an imperfect dipole which has a slight irregularity that represents the introduced loudspeaker. An efficient source control method, acoustic energy difference maximization, is applied to obtain a radiation pattern for a personalised sound area with the proposed model. The dipole irregularities are also optimized in order to obtain a better radiation pattern. This paper shows the feasibility of practical implementation for the generation of a personalised sound area with just two stacked miniature loudspeakers
