Developing excellence in library and knowledge services: accreditation of library and information services in the health sector: a checklist to support assessment. 2nd edition
The Checklist is designed to be used in assessing a wide range of health library and information services including NHS libraries, academic health libraries serving NHS communities, consumer health information services and information services serving the pharmaceutical industry. It can also be used to evaluate library and information services in voluntary organisations, local authorities, professional and regulatory bodies and research units. The generic Checklist document focuses on the components that every library and information service should have to support their clients in the health sector, particularly in connection with evidence-based decision-making and life-long learning. In the NHS environment, Strategic Health Authorities SHAs)/Workforce Development Confederations (WDCs) in England have a crucial role to play as commissioners of library service alongside their strategic development role, and so should find it especially valuable.
