Heute ist für die meisten Menschen hierzulande die Zufuhr mit Eicosapentaensäure (EPA) und Docosahexaensäure (DHA) tief. Gute natürliche Quellen sind Mee resfrüchte, vor allem fettreiche Fische. Alternativ kann zum Erlangen eines optimalen Gesundheits zustands und zur Prävention von Krankheiten mit Fisch ölkapseln substituiert werden.
