The project was part of a Research Fellowship exchange programme organised by Fotonet, the photography development agency operated by The Winchester Gallery under my direction, which sent UK artists Toby Glanville and David Spero to Oulu, Finland, and hosted Jari Silomäki and Renja Leino in Winchester. It sought an internationalised perspective on regional culture, and tested displacement as a factor in creative practice.

I was involved in the selection of Leino as the incoming artist, and then worked with her during her UK residency, on identification of locations, and particularly facilitation of her Absent Minds project, selection and arrangement of works for the exhibition, and the accompanying materials and education programme.
The exhibition was shown in The Winchester Gallery in January 2009, and thereafter in the Rantagalleria, Northern Centre for Photography, Oulu, Finland.
