Additional Information: 'STEELWORKS' was exhibitioned as part of Ideas & Images III: The Art of Mumbai, National Gallery of Modern Art, Munbai, curated by Dr Saryu Doshi, 17th. August -30th. Sept. 2001. Catalogue title: ‘STEELWORKS’, pp 10 ( J.G. 2-4), text; Hoskote. R; (2) This exhibition developed out of the International Artists' Residency Program, 'STEELWORKS',established by the Jindal Arts Foundation. This was held at the Jindal Iron and Steel Company's plant at Vasind, Mumbai. This was the inaugral 'STEELWORKS' residency held in February - March 2001 for six weeks. Four artists were invited; Vincent Barrie ( France), John Gibbons (UK), Subodh Gupta (India) & Jehagir Jani (India). This exhibition was supported by: Jindal Art Foundation; Liberte.Egalite.Fraternite, Republique Francaise; The Embassy of France in India; Alliance Francaise de Bombay; The British Council. 14 Sculptures Shown; 'ORPHIC LIGHT' ; 'PRINCESS' ; 'RHYTHMIC FLOW' ; 'MOMENT' ; 'SECRET PLACE' ; 'TOGETHER' ; 'VILLAGE LINGAM' ; 'ASHOK' ; 'MAOULI LINGAM' ; 'KISHORILAL ; 'WORKSHOP LINGAM' ; 'EARLY MORNING' ; 'VASIND' ; 'TRINITY’ 'Trinity': Copy in the collection of; Cass Sculpture Foundation Shown; 'THINKING BIG: CONCEPTS FOR TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY BRITISH SCULPTURE'. PEGGY GUGGENHEIM COLLECTION, VENICE, ITALY. 6. 9. 2002 – 6.1. 2003 The Residency Program and ‘STEELWORKS’ were reviewed in the Indian National press and in Art India.
