Distinguishing transition and pure bend losses in holey fibers

Distinguishing transition and pure bend losses in holey fibers
Distinguishing transition and pure bend losses in holey fibers
We present the first experimental observations of transition and pure bend loss for macrobends in holey fibers. A model of these bending losses is proposed that preserves the complex refractive index profile.
