Testing of children: legal aspects
This presentation explores the legal analysis behind the report of the British Society for Human Genetics report on genetic testing of children (2010), considers its consistency with general legal principles and examines possible models for explaining the conflicts that need to be managed.
It is an output from the documentary analysis undertaken as part of a project funded by the BUPA Foundation 'Predictive genetic testing of children: matching guidelines with practice and enhancing communication amongst stakeholders'. The BSHG report was developed through workshops supported by the Wellcome Foundation.
