Platinum catalysed nanoporous titanium dioxide electrodes in H2SO4 solutions

Platinum catalysed nanoporous titanium dioxide electrodes in H2SO4 solutions
Platinum catalysed nanoporous titanium dioxide electrodes in H2SO4 solutions
The preparation and electrochemistry of dispersed Pt metal on nanoporous titanium dioxide coatings is described. It is shown that photocatalytic deposition of Pt centres on a nanoporous titanium dioxide layer fabricated from TiO2 nanoparticles leads to high surface area electrocatalysts. The reactions investigated are the evolution of hydrogen and the oxidation of carbon monoxide and methanol.

Abstract

The preparation and electrochemistry of dispersed Pt metal on nanoporous titanium dioxide coatings is described. It is shown that photocatalytic deposition of Pt centres on a nanoporous titanium dioxide layer fabricated from TiO2 nanoparticles leads to high surface area electrocatalysts. The reactions investigated are the evolution of hydrogen and the oxidation of carbon monoxide and methanol.
