The Crystal Structure of 4,6-Di-O-Benzyl-2,3-Dideoxy-2,2,3,3-Tetrafluorogalactose
The Crystal Structure of 4,6-Di-O-Benzyl-2,3-Dideoxy-2,2,3,3-Tetrafluorogalactose
The crystal structure of a reducing dibenzylated tetrafluorinated galactose derivative is reported. The compound crystallized as the ?-anomer, and a single OH···O hydrogen bond dominates the crystal packing, leading to a helical arrangement containing two galactose derivatives per turn. Interestingly, the helices are cross-linked by ArC–H···F contacts, but without significant Ar–Ar interactions.

Abstract
The crystal structure of a reducing dibenzylated tetrafluorinated galactose derivative is reported. The compound crystallized as the ?-anomer, and a single OH···O hydrogen bond dominates the crystal packing, leading to a helical arrangement containing two galactose derivatives per turn. Interestingly, the helices are cross-linked by ArC–H···F contacts, but without significant Ar–Ar interactions.
