Behavioural/ algebraic approaches to nD control systems theory - progress and open research questions
Behavioural/ algebraic approaches to nD control systems theory - progress and open research questions
Multidimensional (nD) systems introduce problems which cannot be solved using existing standard (1D) systems theory. Recently the so-called behavioural approach has emerged as a potential unified setting for the control-related analysis of these systems. This paper provides a tutorial-style overview of some of the major results obtained to date and details the advantages of using this general approach.

Abstract
Multidimensional (nD) systems introduce problems which cannot be solved using existing standard (1D) systems theory. Recently the so-called behavioural approach has emerged as a potential unified setting for the control-related analysis of these systems. This paper provides a tutorial-style overview of some of the major results obtained to date and details the advantages of using this general approach.
