Abstract

We discuss current approaches that, for the sake of automation, provide formal treatments to the problem of semantic interoperability and integration, and we reflect upon the suitability of the Barwise-Seligman theory of information flow as a candidate for a theoretical framework that favours the analysis and implementation of semantic interoperability scenarios.
