Social Categories Are Categories
Social categories are like any other external category: there are consequences of miscategorizing. The fact that the members of the categories or the consequences are social does not make social categories special, as categories. Nor does the fact that many are conveyed verbally. (So are most other high-level categories.)

Abstract
Social categories are like any other external category: there are consequences of miscategorizing. The fact that the members of the categories or the consequences are social does not make social categories special, as categories. Nor does the fact that many are conveyed verbally. (So are most other high-level categories.)
