Towards a virtual archaeology
Towards a virtual archaeology
The video is a very early example of using CSG modelling of digital solids which seeks to create an epistemological rupture between conventional archaeological recording and representation of excavation data -- by demonstrating the arbitrariness of conventions, such as section and plan drawings -- and demonstrate the possibility of developing new strategies and the capability of comparing the relative advantages of alternative strategies, so-called virtual archaeology.
