This special issue of INTEGRATED FERROELECTRICS contains selected papers from the International Conference on Information, Communication and Engineering 2012 (ICICE 2012), which was organized by Fuzhou University of China and the Taiwanese Institute of Knowledge Innovation, and held in the beautiful city of Fuzhou from December 15–20, 2012. The conference provided a unified communication platform for researchers in a wide area of topics which included: information technology, communication science, applied mathematics, computer science, advanced material science, and engineering. The conference committee received and reviewed 653 submitted papers, from 10 countries, and selected 164 of these papers to be presented at ICICE 2012.
For this special issue we have peer reviewed a number of the submitted ICICE 2012 papers and selected 15 of them, as they have ferroelectric-related themes and cover the processing of these material and their applications in electronic devices. Like the conference, we wish for this special issue to enable interdisciplinary collaboration between science and engineering technologists, in both the academic and industrial fields, as well as international networking.
