Determining structural and dynamic distribution functions from inhomogeneously broadened NMR spectra: the conjugate orthogonal functions approach
The structure and dynamics of amorphous solids are difficult to characterize. On the one hand, the absence of structural coherence makes most experimental techniques, such as X-ray scattering and NMR spectroscopy more challenging due to line broadening effects, which degrade the available signal to noise ratio. On the other hand, the presence of structural and dynamic inhomogeneity means that a complete characterization of the sample involves the determination of distributions of structural and dynamic parameters [1,2]

Abstract

The structure and dynamics of amorphous solids are difficult to characterize. On the one hand, the absence of structural coherence makes most experimental techniques, such as X-ray scattering and NMR spectroscopy more challenging due to line broadening effects, which degrade the available signal to noise ratio. On the other hand, the presence of structural and dynamic inhomogeneity means that a complete characterization of the sample involves the determination of distributions of structural and dynamic parameters [1,2]
