Store layout classification scheme in 3D online retailing: empirical insights from a Delphi study

Store layout classification scheme in 3D online retailing: empirical insights from a Delphi study
Store layout classification scheme in 3D online retailing: empirical insights from a Delphi study
While there are several store design classification schemes available in the context of conventional and electronic retailing literature, the respective research in 3D online retailing is in its infancy. This study develops a typology of store layout in the context of 3D online retailing, employing a qualitative empirical research approach through the use of a Delphi method. The findings provide evidence of five distinct store layout types/designs in the context of 3D online Retailing. The characteristics of each layout type, the theoretical and practical implications and the future research directions of the study are briefly discussed.

Abstract

While there are several store design classification schemes available in the context of conventional and electronic retailing literature, the respective research in 3D online retailing is in its infancy. This study develops a typology of store layout in the context of 3D online retailing, employing a qualitative empirical research approach through the use of a Delphi method. The findings provide evidence of five distinct store layout types/designs in the context of 3D online Retailing. The characteristics of each layout type, the theoretical and practical implications and the future research directions of the study are briefly discussed.
