Abstract
All major projects are subject to risk. Current research has concentrated on eliciting individuals' risk attitudes, and analysing projects to estimate overall project risk. The paper explains the need for a risk-management infrastructure. Criteria for choosing methods are described. Various techniques in current use are discussed. Issues involved in multicompany projects are noted.
