We theoretically investigate laser linewidth broadening through the use of optimized phase modulation driven by an arbitrary waveform generator. Accurate optical spectra can be realized with modulation bandwidth comparable to the targeted optical linewidth.

Abstract

We theoretically investigate laser linewidth broadening through the use of optimized phase modulation driven by an arbitrary waveform generator. Accurate optical spectra can be realized with modulation bandwidth comparable to the targeted optical linewidth.
