This data was used to reproduce the paper titled: "Characterisation of drag and wake properties of canopy patches immersed in turbulent boundary layers", by S. Taddei, C. Manes and B. Ganapathisubramani. All the data files were created by using the matlab command "writetable". The data is organised as it follows: - CD-vel.txt: first line: header; column 1: values of patch density; columns 2:5: values of velocity; columns 6:9: drag coefficient, column (n) is related to the velocity in column (n-4) columns 10:13: error on drag coefficient, column (n) is related to the velocity in column (n-4). - Flow data.txt: first line: header; column 1: y/D values, y vertical coordinate, D=0.1m; column 2: U/Uinf, U streamline velocity component, Uinf=20.086 m/s; column 3: y/y0, y0=0.54mm; column 4: U/Utau, with Utau=1.10 m/s; column 5: u/Uinf, u streamline velocity standard deviation; column 6: u/Utau. - CX_hor.xlsx: X = 20, 39, 64, 95, S; horizontal PIV data for all the patches. sheet1: x/D, x longitudinal coordinate, D=0.1m; sheet2: z/D, z lateral coordinate; sheet3: U/Uinf, U streamline velocity component, Uinf = 20.405 m/s C20 20.354 m/s C39 20.371 m/s C64 20.418 m/s C95 20.507 m/s CS sheet4: O*D/Uinf, O vorticity component along y. - CX_ver.xlsx: X = 20, 39, 64, 95, S; vertical PIV data for all the patches. sheet1: x/D, x longitudinal coordinate, D=0.1m; sheet2: y/D, y vertical coordinate; sheet3: U/Uinf, U streamline velocity component, Uinf = 20.199 m/s C20 20.159 m/s C39 20.204 m/s C64 20.128 m/s C95 20.256 m/s CS sheet4: V/Uinf, V vertical velocity component, sheet5: O*D/Uinf, O vorticity component along z.
