Shape memory plasmonic metamaterials
We demonstrate the first shape-memory-alloy-based reconfigurable metamaterial. The structural elements of such metamaterials deform with hysteresis in response to heating and cooling, resulting in non-volatile switching of the shape memory metamaterial’s optical properties.
