This dataset presents the experimental data described in "Berk et al., Vectoring of parallel synthetic jets: A parametric study, JFM, 2016”. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.1017/jfm.2016.559. PLEASE FOLLOW THE DOI FOR THE PAPER TO CITE WHEN REFERRING TO THE DATA. The data is presented for each figure containing important data in the paper (filenames are given accordingly). Using the data provided and normalisation parameters (where applicable), the plots in the paper could be reproduced. Column headings of the data are explained in the “Definitions” sheet of each data file. Further Information regarding the data files: 1. Data for figure 6 is given in Fig6.xlsx. The velocity fields for the six cases are presented in separate sheets, further separated for horizontal and vertical velocity components. Velocity magnitude maps can be reproduced from these components. 2. Data for figure 7 is given in Fig7.xlsx for both cases in separate sheets. These are the vortex trajectories overlaid on velocity magnitude maps. The velocity magnitude maps correspond to Cases a and c in Figure 6. 3. Data for figure 9g, h, c' and d' is given in Fig9.xlsx. The velocity fields for the four cases are presented in separate sheets, further separated for horizontal and vertical velocity components. Velocity magnitude maps can be reproduced from these components. Cases c and d are equal to cases c and d in Figure 6. 4. Data for figure 10b-l is given in Fig10.xlsx. The velocity fields for the eleven cases are presented in separate sheets, further separated for horizontal and vertical velocity components. Velocity magnitude maps can be reproduced from these components. Case a is equal to case c in Figure 6. 5. Data for figure 12-15 is given in Fig12-15.xlsx. Data is separated between figure 12-13 and figure 14-15 in separate sheets. All data points are given in respective columns. Uncertainty estimates are given in article text. 6. Data for figure 16a and b is given in Fig16.xlsx. The two cases are given in separate sheets. Full vorticity maps are given, as well as vorticity maps with swirling strength threshold applied.
