Readme This CSV file contains a catalog of the fake transient events which were inserted into the observational data. It also includes the Source Extractor measured parameters, if the the fake was found. The observing conditions are also recorded here. This catalog can be used to replicate the efficiency grids, and hence the figures, in Frohmaier et al. 2017. The efficiency grids were created by binning the data in multiple dimensions with the 'found' criteria described in Frohmaier et al. 2017 id - Unique ID of Fake source_x - X Pixel location of source star source_y - Y Pixel location of source star fake_x - X pixel location of Fake fake_y - Y pixel location of Fake source_mag_auto - Magnitude of the source star source_flux_auto - Flux of the source star (counts) fake_mag - Magnitude of the fake fake_flux - Flux of the Fake source_background - SExtractor background of source star ccd_id - CCD ID of observation host_x - X Pixel location of host galaxy centre host_y - Y Pixel location of host galaxy centre host_mag_auto - SExtractor galaxy magntiude host_flux - SExtractor galaxy flux fbox - Fbox measurement moon_ill_frac - PTF moon illumination fraction on night of observation airmass - Airmass of observation seeing_new - Seeing in the science image (pixels) seeing_ref - Seeing in the reference image (pixels) mean_ellipticity - Image ellipticity across observation med_sky - SExtractor sky counts zeropoint - Science image zeropoint sub_zp - Zeropoint of the reference image lmt_mag - Limiting magnitude in the science image mjd - JD of observation x_sub - X Position of transient in the subtraction image (pixels) y_sub - Y Position of transient in the subtraction image (pixels) mag - SExtractor magnitude of detected fake mag_err - SExtractor magnitude of detected fake flux - SExtractor flux flux_err - SExtractor Flux error x_ref - corresponding X pixel location of fake in reference image y_ref - corresponding Y pixel location of fake in reference image ml - Machine learning score shrtexp - Bool. False if exposure time is 60s, True if exposure time <60s for the SN2011fe bright exposures. filter - R or g band.
