Influence of water absorption on space charge behavior of epoxy nanocomposites

Influence of water absorption on space charge behavior of epoxy nanocomposites
Influence of water absorption on space charge behavior of epoxy nanocomposites
Nowadays a large number of researches have been focused on properties of epoxy based nanocomposites with an intention to create materials with enhanced properties. Literature review shows space charge behavior in dielectric materials will strongly affect the electrical performance and presence of moisture will influence space charge characteristics. In the present work, owing to the well-known water absorption of epoxy system, the “volts-on” PEA measurement has been used to measure space charge behavior in epoxy and its nanocomposites filled with nano-SiO2 and nano BN in both dry and undried samples. Thus, an overall picture of the influence of water absorption on space charge characteristics in epoxy nanocomposites can be obtained. In addition, the DC conductivity measurement will be processed to further understand the charge mobility in undried samples.
