IMAGEDATA zip files contain .raw tomographic data files metadata.zip contains all metadata connected to the study Image files from I13 beamline at Diamond Light Source, Oxfordshire, UK (Session ID: MT9659) Data used in publication: Koebernick, N., Daly, KR., Keyes, SD., George, TS., Brown, LK., Raffan, A., Cooper, LJ., Naveed, M., Bengough, AG., Sinclair, I., Hallett, PD. & Roose, T. (in press). 'High-resolution synchrotron imaging shows that root hairs influence rhizosphere soil structure formation'. New Phytologist. Images are cropped from original volumes. 8d old barley (Hordeum vulgare cv. 'Optic') roots growing in syringe barrels with Bullionfield soil (sieved to < 1mm). 2 genotypes were used: 'hairs' wildtype and 'no hairs' mutant. 2 moisture treatments were used: 'wet-dry' and 'dry'. see manuscript for details on experimental procedure. Filenames are Genotype (H / N) followed by moisture treatment (D / WD) followed by sample number (1-5), followed by image type (raw / soil / root), followed by x-, y-, and z-dimension, respectively. 'H' is 'hairs' wildtype 'N' is 'no hairs' mutant 'D' is 'dry' 'WD' is 'wet-dry' 'raw' is greyscale image 'soil' is soil segmentation 'root' is root and root hair segmentation Image type: 8-bit NDims: 3 XDimSize: 1250 YDimSize: 1250 ZDimSize: 625 Voxel Size: 0.0016 mm byte order: little endian see Image_Metadata.csv for more information
