Planar waveguides grown by pulsed laser deposition for power amplifiers
Planar waveguides amplifiers (PWAs) are promising candidates to address applications such as greenhouse-gas lidar or ultra-short-pulse energy-scaling. Our recent pulsed-laser-deposition developments have enabled us to make tailored active waveguides (spectral bandwidth and mode structure) based on garnets and sesquioxide crystal hosts.
