Plasmonic properties of superconducting niobium in the optical part of the spectrum
 
  We show for the first time that, contrary to common expectations, transition to superconductivity affects plasmonic behaviour of niobium at optical frequencies.
This result is unexpected as photon energy isorders of magnitude higher than the binding energy of the Cooper pairs, the superconducting charge carriers.
