Polarization insensitive wavelength conversion in a few mode fibre

We experimentally demonstrate stable inter-modal four-wave-mixing in a 1-km-long elliptical-core three mode fibre in the C- and L-bands. The chosen asymmetric pump configuration allows for a signal conversion efficiency sensitivity to polarisation of less than 2 dB.
