The Datasets were collected in the Zepler Institute cleanroom facilities at the University of Southampton between July and August 2017.

Alphastep_surface_profiles.zip:
This folder contains the surface profile data taken with a KLA-Tencor P-16+ stylus profiler over a 1 mm length of the laser consolidated silica soot squares perpendicular to the lasers raster scan direction.
The measurement units for vertical height are in Amstrongs (1*10^-10 m). The file data are tab separated and the x resolution is shown in the header.

Zescope_surface_profiles.zip:
This folder contains the surface profile data taken with a Zemetrics Zescope white light interferometer of the laser consolidated silica soot squares parallel to the lasers raster scan direction.
The file data are comma separated. Header data includes software calculated values for surface roughness parameters.  The measurement units are in microns.
