The Data.zip contains 7 folders with experimental data used for the paper. In particular:

Figure 2.  Data and graph plotted in the manuscript relative to the contact angle and data analysis (average, standard deviation and statistical tests) on Parylene C treated with ICP (indictively coupled plasma) and PDMS RIE (Reactive ion etching)

Figure 3. 'Gel-mask microscope and profiler' that has optical microscopy images on three polyacrylamide hydrogels and data analysis showed in the file 'Gel-masks analysis features.xls'. SEM images on polyacrylamide using VP SEM

Figure 4. The raw data of mechanical tests on PAm gel in PBS ('Gel PAm in PBS.opj'), the raw data of mechanical tests on PAm gel in H20('Gel PAm in H2O.opj') and the data used to calculate the Elastic modulus ('Elastic modlus.xlsx').

Figure 5. The folder called 'immunofluorescent images' contains the imaged obtained after three repetitions (three experiments). Analysis of images.xlsx file has all the data extracted from the images using ImageJ. Circularity.pzfx has the data about cell circularity showed in Figure 5 of the manuscript. Cell area.pzfx has the data about cell area showed in Figure 5 of the manuscript.


Figure 6. Angle orientation nuclei.opj: data on the orientation of nuclei of cells obtained from image analysis using ImageJ.Elongation factor.xlsx contains all the data necessary to calculate the elongation factor. Nuclei alignment polyacrylamide.pzf contains all the values on the cell angle alignement (courtesy of Miss Eleanor Humphrey, Imperial College, London (UK)).
