This archive contains experimental data to support the paper "High-birefringence direct UV-written waveguides for use as heralded single-photon sources at telecommunication wavelengths", by Mathew T. Posner et al., Optics Express 2018. The principal investigator for this paper is Prof. Peter G.R.Smith, head of the Optical Engineering and Quantum Photonics Group, Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), University of Southampton. He can be reached at Prof. P.G.R. Smith Mountbatten Building (Building 53) Optoelectronics Research Centre University of Southampton University Rd. SOUTHAMPTON SO17 1BJ United Kingdom pgrs@soton.ac.uk The corresponding author, Dr. Devin H. Smith, can be reached at the same address, or d.h.smith@soton.ac.uk. Most data was collected at the ORC's facilities in the Mountbatten building. Some data was taken at the Clarendon Laboratory, Oxford, particularly the experimental data supporting figure 5 in the paper. The data is made available under the same licencse conditions as the paper (the OSA Open Access Publishing Agreement). File Descriptions: FHDrecipies.xlsx: Dopant control rates for the different wafers used in the paper - see figure 2 (a). Contact UoS if interested in acquiring additional data/wafers. gratingreflectivity.dat: grating reflectivity for TE and TM waveguide modes. Units for lambda are nm. Data used for plotting figure 4 (a). Units for TE and TM are dB. waveguide birefringence.dat: waveguide birefringence as a function of fluence for different wafers. Data used for plotting figure 4(b). Units for fluence are kJ/cm^2. Methods for calculation of birefringence (biv1/v2/v3) and standard deviation of measurement (stdv1/v2/v3) described in paper.
