Optimised optical fibre poling configurations: A numerical study

Optimised optical fibre poling configurations: A numerical study

We compare several thermal poling configurations, demonstrating that a single-anode geometry offers high effective χ(2) even in optical fibers with loose manufacturing tolerances. Our modelling also reveals that PC fibers display an unexpected “inhibited poling“ mechanism.
