READ ME File For 'Dataset for 'Development of new virtual fields for the non-linear virtual fields method'' Dataset DOI: 10.5258/SOTON/D0725 Author: Aleksander Marek, University of Southampton, ORCID: 0000-0003-4604-3949 This dataset supports the publication: Marek, A 2019, 'Development of new virtual fields for the non-linear virtual fields method', Doctor of Philosophy, University of Southampton. This dataset contains: This data set contains following data: - DN archives: raw images (*.tiff) obtained during testing of deep-notched (DN) specimens of DC04 cold-rolled sheet. These images can be used with stereo-DIC to calculate displacement and deformation fields. The archives corresponding to Camera0 contain additionally a calibration file (.csv) for the stereo setup, and Images.csv file, containing data about force from the load cell of the test machine. Calibration has been performed with MatchID v.2018.1.1 (https://www.matchid.eu/) - The reference quasi-static (QS) data for DC04 cold-rolled steel collected with dogbone tests (QS_data_DC04.mat): The .mat file (generated with Matlab R2018a) contain following data for three orientation of dogbone (DB) tests: -stress -strain -plastic longitudinal strain -plastic transverse strain Additionally data collected in a bulge test is included: -Membrane stress -Thickness strain -Major strain -Minor strain - The Virtual Field Method (VFM) program, developed during the course of PhD (VFM_Program.zip): The program was implemented using Matlab (R2018a) and has its own README file, as well as documentation. - Matlab functions that can be used to implement sensitivity-based virtual fields (SBVFs_library.zip): Two Matlab functions also found in the VFM program, that can be used to construct virtual mesh and project stress sensitivities onto virtual mesh to generate SBVFs.
