Integrated optical fiber: A fresh approach to planar photonics

Integrated Optical Fiber is a new optical platform that planarizes optical fiber through Flame Hydrolysis Deposition. It demonstrates robustness when exposed to harsh environments; features low propagation loss; and planar integration advantages. In this work we summarize the latest developments made and the future trajectory for the technology in quantum technology and harsh environment sensing.

Abstract

Integrated Optical Fiber is a new optical platform that planarizes optical fiber through Flame Hydrolysis Deposition. It demonstrates robustness when exposed to harsh environments; features low propagation loss; and planar integration advantages. In this work we summarize the latest developments made and the future trajectory for the technology in quantum technology and harsh environment sensing.
