The book discusses 'Berlin feelings', as they were expressed by 'former Berliners', i.e. Jewish emigrants who had to leave the city under Nazi rule in the 1930s and now live spread all over the globe. In different sets of correspondence with institutions in Berlin, they remember their childhood, the moments of emigration, the emergence of 'little Berlins' in their new homelands, or experiences of visits back in Berlin. The main set of correspondence refers to the 'Memorial Book of the Murdered Jews of Berlin', prepared 1991-1995.

Abstract
